Two worlds, two series, two captivating stories of magic and wings.
The human world and Faerie parallel each other. Those of Faerie are aware of the human world only as a place to send their outcasts. Humans don’t know of Faerie’s existence—until the events of Discovery.
Read Discovery for the introduction to the faerie outcasts in the human world and the girl that discovered them. The books of the Tales of an Outcast Faerie series have black covers.
Read Light and Shadow to be thrust into the intrigue of the Day Court of Faerie as the ruler’s daughter and her guardian face trials that will decide their fates. The books of the Light of Faerie series have white covers.
There is crossover between the series, but they can be read in any order.
Human world, the world of Faerie, or both—the choice is yours.
Discovery
There is a world beyond human sight. A world of magic and winged beings.
When Nola stole a strange substance from her father’s basement lab, she never dreamed it would make her the target of blackmail or that it would leave her forever changed.
Or that she would encounter a faerie in the woods.
But there is no going back.
“I have this feeling in my gut that what I witnessed earlier and what I may see in the coming days needs to be captured in writing.
“The pen trembled in Nola’s hand. Fear raced through her veins, but there was also a good amount of a frenzied sort of excitement. The swirling gray caught her eye, and she paused in her writing to regard the alien substance. It almost seemed to be regarding her from the vial lying on its side in the pencil tray on her desk. A shiver went down her spine.
“I have a feeling something big is about to happen. My name is Nola Chase. Here starts what I’m pretty certain will at least be an interesting story. Possibly even an epic one.”
Light and Shadow
A bond tested. An heir chosen. The future of the Day Court lies at their feet.
Sevelle must prove her worth to become heir to the Day Court. This is a daunting task, as the formidable ruler of the Day, The Glorious, will be her judge—and Sevelle has no idea what form the trial will take. If she fails, it will be her ruin.
Jae, Sevelle’s guardian, faces her own trial as The Glorious separates her from Sevelle and assigns a new trainer to guard her. And when he reveals shocking knowledge that could change the course of Sevelle’s trial, Jae must decide whether to interfere and defy The Glorious or risk Sevelle failing and dooming them both.
Rise above or crumble—the choice is theirs.
“Sevelle watched carefully from her position beside the dais, enthralled and mentally taking note, as her mother commanded the attention of the courtiers of the Court of the Day. If Sevelle were to follow in her mother’s footsteps, she would need to prove herself worthy. And as the trial approached, she was growing desperate—enough to study her mother’s every move, even though she wasn’t sure she could ever rule in such a domineering manner.
“The Glorious, her mother had named herself after saving most of Faerie from a dark magic spreading through the land and claiming everything in its path years before Sevelle was born. And she was glorious, at least in fourteen-year-old Sevelle’s eyes. Yet that sentiment was not held by all. Without even looking at Jae, her guardian who stood beside her, Sevelle could feel the tension Jae kept tightly controlled. They were nearly the same age, Jae a few months younger, and had been raised together, as sisters of a sort, but it was always apparent Sevelle was the priority—Jae’s purpose was to guard Sevelle with her life. Only of importance as long as Sevelle existed.
“Sevelle’s mother stood on the dais of the Throne Room just in front of the twin thrones and beside Sevelle’s father Drake—who was dressed in the more casual wrapped garment of the Nym, the caretakers of the land, green-colored chest bare and brown wings tucked to his back. However, all eyes focused on The Glorious, the true ruler. Her brilliant, rich blue wings were spread to show the brown markings that looked like eyes, one near the upper curve of each wing, silver-gray skin looking radiant where it showed around the golden wrapped fabric showing off all the right curves, Telk stones tied to her arms and legs, blue hair tied up regally to reveal the sun-shaped mark on her temple—the mark they all bore as faeries of the Day. And her presence—she proudly commanded the room as she spoke, as if she was born to rule.
“Sevelle needed that kind of confidence if she was to emerge triumphant from the coming trial and claim her right to the title of heir to the Day.”
