Official blurb:
Shamed sister versus spiteful brothers.
Riona grew up hiding in the wilds, an Irish fae without lands or titles. It was always enough with her mother at her side. But a powerful stranger invades her home and strikes her mother down for vengeance’s sake. Riona escapes him with her life, and vows to avenge her loss no matter what.
Rumors say that she has a band of older brothers, but when she seeks their help, she discovers that they also carry a grudge for the sins of her mother’s past. And they hold Riona responsible.
Hunted and afraid, Riona must live in secret among mortals until she finds a way to defend herself. A radical human priest with the power to wield a magic toxic to all fae may have her answer…
Vices & Vixens is a prequel to the Exiles of Eire series.
My rating: five stars out of five
Rio is one of my favorite characters in this series, so I was really excited to read her origin story. And it didn’t disappoint!
The plot is quite intricately crafted and keeps you turning the page until events and characters line up with the beginning of book one.
But my favorite part was seeing Rio grow from suffering hardship and seeking vengeance into this strong, iron-wielding fae.
This book is a perfect introduction to the series, but you can also read the main books and come back to it as I did.
