Official blurb:
Cursed Prince versus conniving Family.
Daire of Ivy has a life of luxury and less than a month left of it. A cure to the death curse his family put on him exists: persuade a human to collect the Irish Fae’s sacred objects together. He has the human, his vulnerable accomplice Maya. Now he needs the treasures.
The only way to cover Maya’s hunt across his world and hide her from his family is to use the upcoming election of a new High King. Daire’s half-sister—a.k.a. Maya’s kidnapper—is one of the candidates and plans to take Maya with her as she campaigns to win the votes she needs.
Daire’s family fears his vengeful sister gaining the throne, though, and will do anything to stop her campaign. Maya’s growing affection for his sister threatens to turn her against him. Daire’s own tender feelings toward his accomplice could prove even worse. This sheltered prince must discover strength he’s never needed to overcome the challenges ahead or lose everything.
My rating: five stars out of five
Oh, the twists and turns! This book was an emotional roller coaster ride. I’m still not sure how I personally feel about the ending, but I can appreciate the brilliance of it.
First off, this is book two. See my review of book one.
I’m so there for love triangles. This one between Rio, Daire, and Maya coupled with the complications introduced by the plot was rather captivating. I also loved the magic and political scheming and the complicated family relationships involved.
Everything came together to make this book pretty hard to put down.
When’s the next one coming out??
