Official blurb:
Now that her mother is dead, Lilly is the last of her kind.
A Seeker.
Tasked with seeking the lost crystals of Faerie, she must restore her broken and barren world to its former glory.
But the crystals that keep Faerie alive have been stolen by the Sons of Darkness and are hidden on Earth. It’s up her to get them back by any means necessary.
She has everything under control and plans to bring the first crystal back, when she meets him – Liam – a Son of Darkness.
He’s the most dangerous kind, with black wings that smoke and eyes that have seen death. She must kill him, kill him and take the crystal, but she can’t.
He’s her soulmate.
My rating: four out of five stars
This fantasy world was really creative and enjoyable. Faerie and the relationship of Faerie to the human world was really unique, as was the plot with the seekers, crystals, and Sons of Darkness.
I love a good romance. The love part of the story was well done. I love it when characters from different worlds are drawn to each other despite their circumstances. The romance is a little adult, which wasn’t what I was expecting but still enjoyable.
I would’ve given this book five stars if not for the swearing. I swear in real life. I do. But the amount of swearing and the fact that it spanned all circumstances just felt unrealistic. For instance, when Lily swore constantly to the elders of Faerie, it made her seem childish and gave the world a little less credibility.
Overall, a quick four-star fantasy romance read!
