Official blurb:
WHEN THE FATE OF THE WORLD IS AT STAKE, LOYALTIES WILL BE TESTED.
As one of Odin’s Valkyries, Malin’s greatest responsibility is to slay immortals and return them to the underworld. But when she unearths a secret that could unravel the balance of all she knows, Malin along with her best friend and her ex-girlfriend must decide where their loyalties lie. And if helping the blue-eyed boy Asher enact his revenge is worth the risk—to the world and her heart.
My rating: five out of five stars
I love the way Amanda Hocking writes. Her writing is rather fast-paced and keeps you hooked and wanting to turn the page.
The twists is this book were unpredictable—something I really enjoy these days.
The world building was excellent. I love when there is a mish-mosh of otherworldly creatures all in one place. And the eternal question of purpose of the Valkyries was really cool to contemplate and watch the characters play out.
Others may disagree, but I love a good love triangle. Malin’s relationship between Asher and Quinn was really interesting. Sometimes I wanted her to go one way, but then she explained her feelings and I totally got it. But then things changed. Very realistic.
This book ends on a giant cliffhanger, so I’m glad I bought it as a duology.
Now on to the next one!
