This book was unique, dark, magical—pretty much everything I love in a book.
Emily is a shifter in a world where shifters are feared and hunted. She suppresses her shifter self and tries to live a normal life—complete with popularity, a loyal best friend, and quarterback boyfriend. But once her secret gets out, she has to face the part of herself she ignored for so long as well as unspeakable danger.
The story takes many twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat. It was really hard to put it down. The characters are all very realistic. And the magic is unlike everything I’ve ever read.
But my favorite part was the mind conversations between Emily and the Owl (the being she turns into). I loved that The Owl wasn’t afraid to tell Emily the truth. Their dynamic was truly entertaining.
Between coming to terms with The Owl within and the constant danger of being hunted for being a shifter, Emily’s story is a page-turner perfect for fans of urban and paranormal fantasy.
